Sidi Saiyyed Mosque

Hey friends,
In my previous blog I have told u people about Adalaj stepwell which was liked by u so today I'm back with another beautiful place that is Sidi Saiyyed Mosque.
Sidi Saiyyed Mosque is just 3km from Ahmedabad railway station.

The Sidi Saiyyed Mosque built in 1573, is one of the most famous mosques in Ahmedabad. Known as “Sidi Saiyyed Forge”, it was built by Siddi Saeed or Sidi Sayyed, in the army of the last Sultan Shams-ud-Din Muzaffar Shah III, one of the Sultanate of Gujarat in the followers of General Bilar Zajar Khan. Was abyssinian.

The mosque was built in the last year of the existence of the Sultanate of Gujarat. The mosque is completely arcqueted and it is famous for beautifully carved ten-stone lattice windows and the arch is rear. The rear wall is full of punched panels of square stones in geometric designs.

Two sections bending towards the central corridor have laid stone slabs in the shape of the trees and leaves of the hour and shape of a palm shaped. This complexly carved lattice stone window is Siddi Sayyed burn, which is the informal symbol of the city of Ahmedabad and the inspiration for the design of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

Adalaj stepwell

Hey friends,
In my last blog I have spoken about my visit to sabarmati Ashram which was very much liked by u people. Today I'm going to tell u about another beautiful place that is Adalaj stepwell which is 15km away from sabarmati Ashram.
The Adalaj stepwell was built in 1498 by Rana Veer Singh (the Vaghela dynasty of Dandai Des), for his wife Queen Ruddadevi as she demanded for her during her marriage proposal. But before completing the stepwell the king was killed during the war by muslim king Mahmud Begada of neighbourinv state whjch was later built in Indo-Islamic architectural style in 1499.

When we entered this place it was quite crowded with people. The Adalaj stepwell is five stories deep, and is built using sandstone. The whole structure has several carved pillars, beams and arches that are beautifully designed. The air and light vents are placed in such a way that the sunlight does not fall on the steps. There are depictions of several daily events carved on the walls and pillars of the stepwell.we almost spend more then 2 hours by sitting there and clicking photos it was as cool as A/C.

Visit to sabarmati Ashram

Hey friends,
Last year during summer vecation when me and my family decided to go to Gujarat we visited sabarmati Ashram the house of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi a great leader of India.

The day which was decided had come and we left for Gujarat. The journey took us 18 hours to reach to the Ahmedabad railway station. We took a taxi and papa told taxi driver the name of the hotel and he took us to the hotel. We were freshed up and we were left to see the sabarmati Ashram.

When we reached that the atmosphere was cool, silent and peaceful.

It was a beautiful place full trees, flowers, bird's, people around the Ashram but still it was cool and peaceful.
We saw the things which were used by bapuji the charkha big and small, the khadi cloth of different colour which was made by him. I also saw the sabarmati river which was flowing through the sides of the Ashram and which was so clean and beautiful to see. We clicked many pics and enjoyed a lot there.
