Dwarkadhish

Hey friends,
This is my last blog I hope u people have like my previous blog. Today I'm going to tell u about Dwarka or Dwarkadhish is home of Lord krishna.
Dwarka is an ancient city and a municipality of Devbhoomi Dwarka district in the state of Gujarat in northwestern India. It is located on the western shore of the Okhamandal Peninsula on the right bank of the Gomti River. Dwarka is one of the foremost Chardhams, four sacred Hindupilgrimage sites, and is one of the Sapta Puri, the seven most ancient religious cities in the country. Dwarka is often identified with theDwarka Kingdom, the ancient kingdom of Krishna, and is believed to have been the first capital of Gujarat.
Dwarka is believed to have been the first capital of Gujarat. The city's name literally means the "gateway to heaven" in Sanskrit, asDwar means "gate" and ka references "Brahma". Dwarka has also been referred to throughout its history as "Mokshapuri", "Dwarkamati", and "Dwarkavati". It is mentioned in the ancient prehistoric epic period of the Mahabharata. According to legend, Krishna settled here after he defeated and killed his uncle Kansa at Mathura.
Dwarka was established as the capital inSaurashtra by the Aryans during thePuranaic. The Yadavas, who had migrated from Mathura, established their kingdom here when the city was known as "Kaushathali". It was during this period that the city underwent rebuilding and was named Dwarka. A friendly population of natives also prompted Krishna to settle at Dwarka when he decided, after fighting Jarasandha, the king of Magadh, to retreat from Mathura. The kingdom, also known as the Yaduvanshi empire, was established by Uugrasena, father of Kansa the then ruler and later Krishna flourished and extended its domain. It is said that Krishna conducted the administration of his kingdom from Dwarka while residing with his family in Bet Dwarka. The city's Dwarkadhish Temple dedicated to Krishna was originally built around 2,500 years ago, but was destroyed by Mahmud Begada rulers and subsequently rebuilt in the 16th century.

Somnath temple

Hey friends,
It's my 5th blog I hope u people have like my previous blog which were the different places in Gujarat. Today I'm going to tell u about somnath temple which is situated on coastal areas of Gujarat.
The Somnath temple located in Prabhas Patan near Veraval in Saurashtra on the western coast of Gujarat, is believed to be the first among the twelve jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. It is an important pilgrimage and tourist spot of Gujarat.  According to tradition, the Shivalinga in Somnath is one of the 12 jyotirlingas in India, where Shiva is believed to have appeared as a fiery column of light. The jyotirlingas are taken as the supreme, undivided reality out of which Shiva partly appears. Each of the 12 jyotirlinga sites take the name of a different manifestation of Shiva. At all these sites, the primary image is a lingamrepresenting the beginning-less and endlessstambha (pillar), symbolizing the infinite nature of Shiva. In addition to the one at Somnath, the others are at Varanasi,Rameswaram, Dwarka, etc.
The site of Somnath has been a pilgrimage site from ancient times on account of being aTriveni sangam (the confluence of three rivers: Kapila, Hiran and Sarasvati). Soma, the Moon god, is believed to have lost his lustre due to a curse, and he bathed in the Sarasvati River at this site to regain it. The result is the waxing and waning of the moon, no doubt an allusion to the waxing and waning of the tides at this sea shore location. The name of the townPrabhas, meaning lustre, as well as the alternative names Someshvar and Somnath("The lord of the moon" or "the moon god") arise from this tradition.

Teen Darwaja

Hey friends,
I'm back with another beautiful place of Gujarat that is Teen Darwaja.
Teen Darwaja or Tinn door is a marvel of architecture. Tinn door with gorgeous arched door, longest and Ahmedabad is one of the oldest gateways in the city. It was founded by Sultan Ahmed Shah in 141 AD, who founded the city of Ahmedabad.

It is situated on the three door near the famous Bhadra Fort and its complex form has been carved. Initially, it used to be the entrance to Royal Square in Bhadra Fort. It is tipically a local market. The walls and pillars of the three door are beautifully designed. Tin Door of Ahmedabad in Gujarat state of Gujarat is indeed a symbol of Islamic architecture.

The windows of this magnificent monument are semi circular and are adorned using the net work. The central window reflects the tree of life. Five palm trees are shown which come with snakes. This depiction also works as a symbol of the Gujarat government. This royal bastion is the highest after Ahmedabad’s tourist sites.
